Alright folks, it is Jonathan here. Now, in this tutorial what are we doing is showing the new DJ’s out there a good way, beat matching just the beats. Now, if you listen to your records, your CD’s, your PC programs, what I want you to do, I want you to find one that have got a long intro and a long outro. In other words, there is quite a good part of the beginning of the song when it is just the beat and there is quite a good part of that same track where there is a beat at the end.
What I want you to do I want you to just concentrate on mixing the beats beginning and end. In other words, one track plays at the end of that there is a good beat then just concentrate on mixing the end of that track with the beginning and to the next one where there is just the beat. A lot of DJ’s once you know how to do that, a lot of DJ’s will listen to the individual songs and now brings say the second track in half way through the first track. The third track may be caught up of the way through the second track.
In this one, what we are going to be doing is just concentrating on mixing the beats. Now, on this track here this is the one that is going to be finishing, this track here this is the one I am going to be bringing in. This track here, the last 30 seconds there is just the beat, this track here about the first 30 seconds there is the beat. Now, if I was to start this one off here, this precise point that the actual beats start here at the end of the song then I would theoretically only have 30 seconds to mix it in, to get in beats etcetera which would not give me enough time.
What I am going to do, I am going to bring this one in about say ten seconds or so before the last 30 seconds off the beats start with this one or the outro, that gives me a little bit of time to mix it, get it in beat and then get them both together. You will get the general idea. Now, this is just a tip, remember new DJ’s out there just concentrate on mixing beats to begin with alright. So what I will do, I will plug ways up, I will plug this in here so you get better audio, alright bare with me.

Okay, not the best example in the world but basically if you can imagine you want to get a set together but you want the set, of course you want it to work but you are not particularly bothered about trying to gel on vocals melody in bass line. All you want to do is just match that beat, that is all you got to do. Find records, find CD’s, find programs with just beats a good intro beginning with just a beat, a good outro with just a beat and just join those together. By doing that, you could get a nice good set together and then it is also a good way of teaching yourself how to beat mix alright. Thanks for watching Practice and enjoy.
