I think that this is part 5 ladies and gentlemen in cutting, mixing and scratching for the turntablist. In this lesson, we are going to be do something because I am crouching down. It is something called “cutting”. Basically, it is the terminology for the use of two records. You are cutting the one that is not playing into that one that is. In other words, you have a record that is playing continually and you are sampling bits of a second record into the one that is actually playing.
The two records that you are going to be listening to is Rex and effect roadshaker. The one that I am going to be cutting into is Busta Rhymes, put your hands where my eyes could see. All that I am going to be doing, I got the two sliders up here at the same level. And I am going to be using the crossfade. As I cut sample as part of the record, I take the crossfade from the one that is playing over – I let this one play as soon I have used the sample, the tiny bit that I want. I take the crossfade straight back over again. I bring this one back. And then as soon as I am ready again, I put the crossfade over, this one plays, I will bring the crossfade back and pull this one back. I will do this quite fast. I will be using little bits of the beginning, quite a lot of the beginning. And eventually, I will put the crossfade dead center and I will mix it in.

There you go with the spinback. So, what I was doing is that I was playing the one song, I was cutting this one in. Cut, cut, wicky, wicky, a bit of a scratch as well. And then this one is playing. And there is no reason why then I cannot get a third song and do exactly the same on the other side. That is my interpretation of what is know as cutting for the turntablist. Thank you very much. I hope that you enjoyed it. Bye.
