All right folks, this is the second lesson in harmonics of mixing.
Music is the key. I will explain a couple of things. Firstly, I am not a musician, end of story. Secondly, if anyone out there is and would like to help me to explain the best way of matching keys with keys when we are mixing then please do so. Thirdly, there is a DJ forum called mixing on beat. That is www.mixingonbeat.com. I suggest if you want more information on key change and harmonics, go there and there is a guy called DJ Andre who has done quite a lot on it.
Listen [piano playing]. They work well together. [piano playing] They do not really work that well together. [piano playing] They work nicely together. [piano playing] They do not work nicely together. [piano playing] They do not work nicely together. You imagine your are playing two records but one is here. [piano playing] Let us say that is the key, that particular track is in and the other one, [piano playing] is here. Let us say the one you are mixing and finishing off is just coming toward the end of the mix is here [piano playing] and the one you are bringing in is here. [piano playing]
If you are trying to mix those two together, what you are doing is you are using the same notes together. Have a listen. [piano playing] Sounds absolutely awful. Second lesson in learning how to mix using harmonics. There is going to be a lot of these hopefully. I would need some help. As I have said, not a musician, got to mixingonbeat.com and you can enter that forum if you want to join up, US’s best forum. Practice and enjoy and let us make this one a good one. Thank you very much for watching, cheers.
