Alright folks, if you are DJ and you will have to beat mix, there are tow things you have to take into consideration. Firstly, beat being your appropriate word here as in beat, beat per minute. What is beats per minute? Well, basically, if you will listen to any track that has some sort of beat in there, you can hear a drum or something, then if you are actually counting those beats in a minute, you will get the BPM, beats per minute.
I say for example you got 2 tracks. One is happily playing, the crowd is jumping about and you have to mix to the next one in. Let us take the one that is playing is a 120.2 BPM. To get the next one, perfectly beat match, you will have to get the second one at exactly the same BPM as the first one. It has got to be exactly the same. Now, alright, it could be very, very slightly off but here is the deal. If it is very, very slightly off by say, not going to one of the BPM or 0.1 of the BPM, then it will mix initially but eventually, it will start to go off you’re here (demo)
That is why a lot of people say, I got in beat but it seems to go off. The reason being is some CDJ turntables will have a 120 and a 120, in other words, one track will be a 120 BPM and you will put the other one to a 120 will just rely on the information given to you for that particular CDJ. But, because it is not precise, the one could be a 120.3 and the other one could be a 120.4 so, initially they will seem as the other one beat and you will be messing around with the bass and treble and eventually, they will start to go off.
Now, the other thing you have to consider is something called the key of the tone, the fill of the track. Now why I do not, I demand this program, Zoe Mixing Key(ph), basically what it will do for you, once you got the program on your PC, you can drag and drop all your music files into this program and then it will do tow things. One, it will find the key for you and the other one, it will find the BPM, the beats per minute.
Now, you can also get that from it as well. Now, I will explain in a future video. What will be doing over the next week or so, we are going to be looking in depth at this sort of program. What I am going to do, I am going to go whole bunch to tunes, I am going to burn all to CD, make a mix, and I am going to do a good mix and a bad mix using this. So, all way through the other videos, I will be explaining exactly what I am doing and hopefully you will see the right way of doing it and also maybe the wrong of doing it. So, let us watch. Practice and enjoy.
