How To Mix: Riding the Pitch Part 2

Folk’s, this is the second video in writing a pitch what I am going to do now is I am going to show you what I mean when I say ride the pitch and if you do not can. Not may be will, not will happen, but what can happen if you do not keep your finger on the long pitch button over there. What I want to do is I want to do is do the mix twice. The first time I am just going to try and get it in beat and leave it and see what happens. The second time, ride the pitch and keep it in beat and we will see the difference. The tune records music is start as the music sounds better with you and Lola’s Theme by the Shape Shifters. Okay here we go. [music playing] What is happening is basically the beats are going all over the place. I will do that one more time. [music playing] Basically what is happening is this, the beat started off correctly at the same time bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. But slowly they do this bang… bang… bang... they go off. They almost start to move apart form each other. That is why it is important you look at the video with regards to cars because if you think about it for two vehicles to go at the same speed 25 miles an hour together they will stay together. If one is going at 25 and half miles an hour it will look as though they are staying together but very slowly the one going at 25 and half will eventually start to creep up and go faster. Alternatively, if it is going slower eventually it will go slower behind the other one. This time I am going to ride the pitch and see what happens. [music playing] Right, basically the differences is this, what I was trying to do is simply one thing. I was trying to keep them in beat. When and or should I say if I was playing in front of the public, instead of trying to look good and messing around here you are actually not because if the beat goes off saying it ends up looking crap and sounding even worse. Concentrate on this, concentrate in the beats together initially when you have mastered then you can mess around here then it looks fantastic. Practice and enjoy thank you for watching.
