How To Play Baseball: Base Running Basics

[Music Playing] We are now talking about base running at the youth league level. At this level, it is very important that each player understands that he is to start his running at the moment of contact. By that we mean after he swings there is initial step, his front foot will be now facing towards the first baseline at he begins his sprint towards the line. At the moment of contact, he is stepping towards the first base and as he begins to run, it is very important that each coach instructs his player to drop the bat.
