(Music playing) What size bat should a player choose? It really depends upon the hitter. The key points are bat control, bat comfort, bat quickness and bat speed. In this case, Bryce has selected a bat that is three inches long and 23 ounces in weight. It is a bat that he can control through the hitting zone. The hitting zone is that area where the hitter is going to make contact with the ball. And then he can establish some good quickness in bat speed as he swings. Each player, depending upon his size and strength, will select the bat that is comfortable to him. Thickness of the handle will also be a consideration in selection of a bat in the overall comfort and feel of the bat. Chad has selected a bat for his body type is 33 inches long and 30 ounces in weight. Again, it is a bat that he can control through the hitting zone with good bat speed and good quickness.
