If he comes here, step away over here. Now, he cannot see the runner at first base. Another advantage is even he comes parallel and he set and save both legs or walked out. Now, what is going to happen, with his legs like that as soon as he gets ready to go home; he is going to break his back leg down. He has got to break to get this leg up, lift, to be able to go; to be able to get it up and go home.
So, what we want to do is guard against one, having your legs locked out, have a slight bend at them, doing have your feet if he starts up with an open stance. Slide your foot around to me. now, he is open he has got a better look at the runner but soon as he gets ready to deliver the pitch at home. He has got to get to come towards me. Go.

And there it is. Another thing that can give the runner an advantage of turning around here, but Timmy is going to throw this way. He has come set, is the positioning of his elbows. If his elbows are here and he reeds, the runner reeds his shoulders, when he tucks in. He knows that he is lifting that shoulder. the leg that go towards home plate.
So, again, be aware that if you roll in to much as you lift your leg. He is going to get you. If he lifts his leg and he breaks too far behind and playing a little rubber. He goes too far. Now, he knows because now, he has traveled all his distance, he gives the runner an advantage.
Again, he is to slow to the play. So, again, guard against too much in with the turn. Do not have your knees locked out. Do not be a quitter, your set and go. Break down the time. Different variations at time and occasionally just step off. If the runners going, the teammates they are going to yell “Break step off runner” disengaged with your back foot, step off, get the ball up and you are ready to go.

Good job.

What we want to try to do is confuse the runner at first base and make sure that we dictate that he is in our control. That he does not know when we are coming over. We want to keep him off bounds. So, what we were going to do is, we are going to work on going up, hands coming down and hands come in set. So, we can work with the runner over there.
Another thing we want to do is, when we decide what we are going for our total pick off move. We will set him up with the long arm action. We take a long arm; it takes just a little bit longer. We are going to try to bait them. See if we can get the runner to get off and then, once we get ready for the kill. We are just going to pivot, get the arm up, make a snap throw and if it is nice and accurate, we are going to get in.
Also, hop up here. Come, you guys. When Phillip and Timmy go for the pick off, what we are going to do is ask them to throw it to the first base with his right by throwing it to the first base with the right knee, when he turns to throw. Hopefully the runners come and right back into it. We got tired of having throws all over the general area.
If we focused and picked on the right knee, he comes right back into the tag. What we are going to do is have them simulate some more then we work on the actual pick off with me. Plan the first base. Here we go, let us rotate. Okay, Phillip let us do it.
