I want to talk a moment about base running from first to third. At the youth level it is very important that when a player sprints from first to third, he now takes the proper angle and hits base at second with the correct foot. Now there are two ways in teaching this. Some players recommend or some coaches recommend that we hit with the left foot, which takes our body momentum or turn us in a certain direction, but there have many studies have been shown that when a players in full stride whatever foot his comfortable with he hits the base with and does not break his stride. But once again, we emphasize that he is to hit the front of the base.
