This is where we all want to be at second base scoring position. We got two different ways that will teach us. One is with less than two outs and the other is with two outs and that is going to cause us to vary our lead little bit based on what we want. Ryan is going to help me with our lead with less than two outs. Okay Ryan, let us go ahead and take it. Once the coaches clap and given you the free up sign to take your lead, Ryan is going to get behind the bag.
Once the pitcher comes set and is in his set, Ryan is going to begin to walk up and over. You got to notice how he is creeping a little bit toward thirds coming optical illusion to the pitcher. And when the pitcher gets ready to deliver the ball and the ball has crossed home plate, we want Ryan be to in a straight line between second and third. Once the ball has crossed the plate if it is not been contacted, we are going to be into a shuffle step, go ahead Ryan, two shuffles, and that is where we need to be.
Okay Ryan, come on back and let us try it again. Okay, less than two outs. We are going to take our lead. All right, as soon as the pitcher comes in to his set position, Ryan is going to start walking up and he is also going to walk over. He is going to chew up some yardage, pitch has crossed the plate inward shuffles, good, we are right there and now he can retrieve back. If the ball is being contacted, we are on the third base. But notice how we walked up and over. We are going to gain some yardage toward third base as we go. It is important however with less than two outs, so he will be in a straight line between second and third, because in the force play situation, he has got a bus to stay over the bag.

With two outs, we are going to change a little bit. Ryan is going to take his lead and he is going to take a deep lead and keep it. So from here, rather than walking up and over, we are going to get our shuffle steps and he is going to try to catch his angle at third base and score on the single. The object here is to score on the single with two outs. They are going to have to throw somebody out of the play to find coach in third base.
Okay, pitch has crossed the plate, he is into his shuffles, nothing has happened and he is still in good position to retrieve if he needs to. If the ball is being contacted, then he is on the break, he is going to hit the inside corner of third base and beyond of the plate cutting down the number of steps that he has to run out and around third base and into the grass. So those are out two versions, with less than two outs, we walk up and over and with two outs, we stay deep and catch the angle at third.
