Male: This is our Texas leaguer drill. This is a drill that helps us improve our foot quickness in terms of going after balls that are behind us, whether it is to our right, to our left, straight back, that makes any difference. Anytime that you force somebody to move as fast as possible in a drill, it is going to simulate what happens in a game. You get a ball hit down on a left field line, down the right field line where an infielder has to really charged hard to go get it.
Male: The important thing here is not to take any wasted steps. If the ball sits over your right shoulder, you would not drop step to your right side. You shall se the guys do it in just a minute. Ball hits left, you stop step left. If you ended up taken extra steps, it is going to cost you in terms of being able to get to a ball and either catch it or set up and catch it properly. We do not want to have to make it any tougher it is absolutely unnecessary.
Male: The coach is going to start us here and we are going to watch the guys. They will start up pretty easy.
Boy 1: Mine, mine, mine, mine.
Male: They will call everything; we call again mine, mine, mine, and everything that we do.
Boy 2: Mine, mine, mine, mine.
Male: Tommy took the wrong step, one direction. We can make that adjustment. Perfectly alright, you are going to see that happen consistently that is why we do it.
Boy 3: Mine, mine, mine, mine.
Male: You will find that if you are just hesitate long enough to ensure that you go to the right direction, you actually get to the ball faster then if you take off run and go to the wrong way. Try our best, now our challengers to go to the right direction. Notice how Adam drop step to the right when he got it. As they get descent at it. We are going to stretch him out a little bit.
Boy 4: Mine, mine, mine, mine.
Male: Anytime we go to the right side for a right hand and end field the other one want to go backhand.
Boy 5: Mine, mine, mine, mine.

Male: Texas leaguer drill, push him as hard as you can, make him work and we will tell you what is that making him work. They are going to get he balls but you did not believe that they could ever get to. If you just cut out the numbers steps that are unnecessary and put it in on with the necessary steps, move as hard as you can on a daily basis and practice either with your team or individually, boy, we are going to get a lot better on these ball, no question about it.
