In this drill we are going to practice simulated at a throw off of the mound, having our body in a proper position to come off and be able to feel the ground ball with two hands and then properly set our feet up. What we are going to do is eliminate the throw to the back. How the emphasis is, catching the ball and get into footwork set up so we can get the out. We will do this, put players in single file line.

Get your feet set, ready to go. Just roll the ball to the back of mount. One of the things that I want to point out when you this, you can say “Well, I can just roll it to him.” Sure that is easy to do if you are home. Maybe want to do it in the front yard or the street, but what you want to do is that try to use a bat because then they get a true feel of the way the ball is going to come off the bat. Here we go. Ready.

Philip comes off. He is in a field in position. Where is your field in position? Glove up.
[Music Playing]
Step, throw.

Charge it. Good job. Notice Idero’s cradles the lane with two hands. He sets his feet up, ready to make the proper angle to throw to first base.

JD’s will be just a little bit on the control. Here we go. Jade, try it again. Be under control. Spread your feet when you are finish. Break down. Excellent. That a boy. Better.
Now I am going to move him just a little bit. Here we go. They are going to react to the ball.
[Music Playing]
Takes a proper angle. Remember catch the ball first then get the out. If you pull your head up, you are going to pull your glove up. See the ball all the way.
[Music Playing]
Good job.
[Music Playing]
Make sure you got a grip on the ball before you come up with it.
[Music Playing]
