Drill number two, three-point-shot off the fast break.
[Music Playing]
Practice shooting three point shots off the fast break. We are going to have Mike begin at half court, explode three to four steps to the basket and pull up for a jump shot from the three point line. We are not going to ask players to go the full distance of the court because the objective is to get a rhythm for the jump shot not the sprint down the floor.
You notice as Mike goes to this drill, he is dribbling exclusively with his right hand for one set of ten and later he will work with his left hand for another set of ten, so that he is working both sides of the floor for three point jump shots.
Always dribble with your eyes up, when you touch the half court line, explode ahead two or three dribbles, square your feet up to the rim so that you can shoot the ball in a straight line.
[Music Playing]
Now Mike is using his left hand, same principles applied, touch half court, explode ahead three to four steps, square your feet up to the rim. His eyes are up all the time, touch, explode, square your feet and shoot the ball on a straight line.
