[Music playing]
We are going to play four on four war on the paint. Offense against the defense; after the offense shoots the ball, if they make it or if they do not make it, the defense will get the rebound and they will outlet it to the wings and everyone will take off down the court. The same philosophy at running the court drill; you would try to beat your man up the court. You get an easy pass or lay it up or you will run down the court, bump your man and seal. You are trying to get a bounce pass from the wing.
If none of those two options are open, the wing will throw the ball to the high post and they will start their four on four war on the paint. Let us go, work hard. Work hard. Shot, pass; here we go. Shot, pass; good job. Wear him down, wear him down. Fire it up, let us go. Let us go.
Run the floor. Let us go. Okay let us bump and seal them. Let us go four on four, war on the paint. Move! Shot, pass; let us go. Move! Give it to him. Take, shot, fire it up. Let us go, run the floor, let us go. Good passes. Let us go, bump him. Run the offense. Pick down, pick down. Let us go, let us go run the floor.
Pick down, square up; let us go. Good job, wear him down. Let us gets- that was good. Power it up. Get it out, fire it again; put it up son. Put it up. Good job, Let us go. Go, go! Somebody beat him down the court. Bump him, bump him. Back out, let us go. Move it, pick down. Let us go, move it. Pick down. Move, move, move; wear him down. Wear him down. Let us go. Go, go; go. Go, come on run the floor.
As you see, you start wearing each other down, who is ever in better shape wins a basketball game. When you are tired and you can make good decisions you win basketball games. We worked on developing strength with our hands over head. We worked on decision making from the high post. We worked on running the court. These are the three things that I see that high school kids and a lot of college kids do not do well.
When I go to scout or I go to recruit a high school kid, and immediately I look for those three things. Are they strong with their hands over their head? Can they make good decisions from the high post? And are they willing to run the court? If you will concentrate on those three things, you will see instant improvement in your offense and then your players.
