Next drill is called the 48. We do it over two minute time period. The objective is to increase our conditioning, increase our ability to run a fast break without having to put it on the floor. We are going to go half speed to this one time through the objective is to score 48 baskets in a two minutes time period. When you use one ball at each end, the objective is to score 32 baskets. So we will try this just one time through. I have a coach that will be counting at that end; I will count at this end. Grant walk us through this at half speed. You pass through the wing foul line extended half court, the other wing, foul line extended. You lay it up. Get your own rebound. You are coming back the other way, Wayne, half court. Wayne will lay it up. Let us try it now, live.
Now after we make a lay up, we are replacing to the wing. So you go through it one time. The wing will replace the half court; the half court will replaces to the other wing and we start at the other end. This is a team drill. Everybody has to work like clock work. They have to work hard and they have to be precise. They are going to get to the number they need. And stop.
Coach Britton is at the far end of the court, he will count the number of baskets that are made at that end of the two minute time period. I will count the number of baskets made at this end within a two minute time period. The objective of this drill is that everybody has to go full speed to full amount of time. Here we go.
When the first player with the ball gets to half court, the second basketball under the basket starts. Again players are going, the length of them back once and then they will replace it.
