Defensive disruption principle number two is what I call a hip hand. Anthony keeps his hand on the hip of the offensive player at all times. If the player cuts in one direction or the other hard, Anthony will stop him with his hand and then, quickly change hand positions. So go from right to left, left to right, and he is going to stop the offensive player’s momentum and use that stoppage to get his momentum going. This prevents you from never having to be face with getting beat badly on the backdoor cut. And it also disrupts and disorients the offensive player consistently.
