Defensive disruption principle number four is to dig up toward the ball. We never want to lift down and reach down on the ball, because it is easy to call up fouls that way. We are always going to lift up and try to snatch the ball away that way to take it away from the defensive player.

Referees seldom if ever will call a foul if you dig up to the ball. So we always want to dig out. Let us take a look at the team drill. Try to get a piece of the ball and distract the offensive player for what they want to be doing.
