A lot of coaches do not believe that a one on one on a full court situation is a fast break opportunity. I personally do believe that it is the fast break opportunity because the defender is back pedaling. I think when we run to the difficulty is if we do not have players that can make open court moves to simply get the defender off balance and leading one way. We just do three very simple drills to have this come about. We tell our players to pretend you are dribbling the ball with your right hand, as they come down the court, we walk them through, we say jab to your left, push ahead, and we just walk them through this.
Jab left, push ahead, jab left, and push ahead, we walk them through this, let us walk through this. Everybody walk through it ones, then right down. Keep dribbling the ball with your right hand. We are walking them through this so that they get a feel for it before we put a ball on their hand.
Now obviously, once the players are comfortable making this move, the only thing that we really need to do is reinforce the habit with the ball in the hand which we will now do. Just put the basketball on your hand, we go to three at a time, go ahead Anthony lead them off half speed.
We like our players to make their move on the defender when they get to top of the key. So we are going to use the white line to make a move to practice in the top of the key to get ourselves to the basket in time.

Once you get to half court, we want you to be low.
