How To Play Basketball: Good Hands Drill

Alright, the next drill we would like to call our good hands drill. We are trying to teach players to go up with authority and show some power on the rebound. It does not matter if your vertical jump is two inches or 40 inches. You still want to let people know that you are around. This also becomes a habit that you practice. What Joshua is going to do is he is going to throw the ball up on the glass; he is going to go hard after it up both feet. He is going to rebound it on a power rebound and then he will pivot with the ball in tight into the pocket for the outlet pass to the outside. These is a drill you can do on your own, do 10 to 20 repetitions, do a couple of sets of it. Go ahead.

Back out and do it again. Get a hold of it, keep going, and keep going. As he goes on this side he is grabbing it with his left. One more. He is going to up and pulling it down to his left a lot of the time. Now he is going to go to his right side, he will do 10 repetitions on the right side. Even though he is practicing alone, he is making some noise because we want people on the other end of the floor to know, the opponents to know that he is getting the ball with authority, and that he is on the paint and he is someone to be reckoned with.
