What I want to do next is I want to concentrate on some finesse footwork. What we did today originally was we did a lot of physical drills that make you mentally tough toward the game. And the whole emphasis was behind it, getting to the spot and parrying the basketball up. I am a firm believer that kids first must be willing to play physical basketball before you can start teaching them some finesse moves. What I am going to do now is teach you a few finesse moves to go on with part of game, which brings the package together. It makes a lot better. What we are going to do first is the George Mickey drill. The player will go off his left foot and uses right hand, and sweep the ball across the board, and bank it in.
He would take the ball out of the net use his right hand, his right foot and then uses the left and sweep it off the board. It will go back and forth. This has given him some foot work, it has given him some time in, a little bit of finesse and little bit of grace. Okay ready. Go ahead.
He is getting his touch down, right hand, left hand. He is using his right foot. He is getting a good feel for the ball coming off the board. Doing a good job, there you go. Get it up, get your touch down, sweep it up over. Good he got his foot worked down. Good, good. Okay good.
