The next drill we want to take you through and again you can use two people to do this. There are people around them that help them to learn to concentrate. It is the power up move with the opposite hand. Frank is going to retrieve the rebound. Now if he shoots, he is right handed and I am straight up, I have an excellent chance of blocking it as a defender. However, if after he retrieves an offensive rebound, he powers up with his opposite hand or his left hand because he is on the left side, more likely he will score the goal but he might also get a three point play and that is really what we are after. We want the defender to have to cross our body’s, to get to us so that we could take a high percentage inside.
Joshua and Frank will alternate. Frank will out, he will go up off the glass with the power rebound and then power up with a baby hook. Go ahead, go ahead Josh. Good, get up and make some noise, let people know you are around. Again, you are working out the principle where you go at ten reps, you got to make ten reps, when they get through, you can have them alternate sides. You might want to even make this competitive. Let us see who can make ten shots first. That helps to improve the concentration of the shots and the actions that they are doping.
Okay, hold up. Now, let us change sides. This time we will let Joshua start, we will see who can go to five repetitions first. Go ahead. We would like our re-bounders to make a little bit of noise when they go up, let people know that they are around, makes the opponent think that maybe they know what they are doing.
