How To Play Drums: Shuffle Patterns

Now, what I would like to show you is what they call a shuffle. Now, it also will be in 4/4 time. Remember, the 8th note pattern was counted, one and two and three and four and… Well, the shuffle pattern is a little bit different. It is counted like this, one a two a three a four a one a two a three a four a one a two a three a four So, it is going to be the same thing. Bass drum is one and three, snare is on two and four as always, and I am going to do the shuffle pattern on the hi hat. So, here we go. One a two a three a four [demonstration]
