How To Play Football: Pass Blocking

(Music Playing) When it comes to blocking, one of the skills that is very important to teach your players is good “Past Blocking Techniques”. Many times you are in a game and you start to throw and your players need to be able to protect the Quarterback so she can get the ball away. Past blocking is very simple when done correctly the offensive player wants to get in to a stance and on the snap count, “Fire in to the defensive player, get his hands underneath this pads and stand him up”. Now, it is very important that the offensive player now “keeps his hands and elbows in, keep his feet pounding and forces the defensive player to go to the outside”, always staying with the payer. This is a situation were you might be very called for “Holding”. The player cannot grab on to the jersey could not get his hands on the outside. Very important that he keeps his hands, elbows to the inside, driving his feet and driving the Defensive Player to the outside. (Music Playing)
