Female Speaker: Once you have mastered the skill of juggling, you want to be able to lift the ball from the ground; you do not have to use your hands at all, because we are never using our hands in the game touching the ball. So this first lift we are going to do here is called the toe squeeze and all you have to do is bring your toes touching the side of the ball and slap your ankles together and the ball bounces right up, and you start juggling right off of there. One more time, toes to the side of the ball, slap those ankles together and the ball pops right back up.
A similar variation, we call it the kangaroo lift; and this is where -- place the ball between your ankles, squeeze firmly bring your knee up to your chest. Bring the ball with you and lift and now we can juggle. Ball between the ankles, moving on to some more advanced lifts. We are going to start with the ankle lift and Doug is simply rolling the ball up the side of his calf and then kicking. So he rolls it up the side and then knocks it up, and he has excellent control here as you can see.
And now Doug is going to move on to what we call a wrap lift. And he is just going to wrap the ball around his calf and turn to collect it for the juggle. This is also called a 360 turn. So, same movement - up the calf, and he turns to collect it. So it's roll and spin, roll and spin. And the next one will be the motorcycle lift and basically this involves putting one toe at 7 o'clock on the ball. If you are looking down at your ball put one toe at 7 o'clock and you are going to strike 2 o'clock on the clock with your heal of your opposite foot down alongside the ball and the ball is going to pop up.
