How To Play Soccer: Receiving Airballs Drill

Janine: Receiving air balls: Doug is going to use his chest to begin with and we have given him a grid, he has to control the ball bringing it down to his feet in that area and just play the ball back to me. We will do ten repetitions each, I am just serving him a mini-punt. Use a bigger area for beginners then work on keeping the ball close. Good, now we will switch, I want to go to my side, same activity, ten repetitions, five each side. Giving with the ball, stopping it. My second touch is sideways, the defender is coming at me and I want to go directly into them and I am moving here a bit. Now I will do some with my left, playing it here.
