AGILITY DRILL 1
LINEAR/LATERAL JUMP & STICK
Linear or Lateral Jump and Stick. Here we want to work on our joint, stability and balance.
First thing we are going to do is jump forward. One leg at the time just hop forward, stick and hold the position, hold the landing. Flex that knee. We want to try and get down to whatever at a 90 degree angle with the knee. Stick and hold that. We need this could balance and stability for softball explosion.
Control the body, that's how we can control the bat, control the ball. Have a control of the body first. Make sure you work each leg equally. Balance out the right and the left. Do three sets of five jumps with each leg.
Next, let's do on backward. You just need a moderate hop. This one is real difficult, but we have to have that ability to stop our body from moving in one direction. Get control so that we can go on a multiple or different directions. React and go. Great defensive skill. That's what this is about. Get control over the body so that we can explode the direction we need to for greater success. Three sets of five with each leg.
Now let's go Lateral. Simply balance on one foot jump to the other. Hold it for a couple of seconds, jump back. Over and back is one repetition. Do three sets of five repetitions. Remember it's body control, balance, stability. Stop that body from going in one direction. Get it under control.
