Okay, after the verse, we have got what I have call in the PDF the pre-course. It is the section where the lyrics are revolutionizing in my head. Now, this is 12 bar section. The first six bar feature two bar section that is just repeated three times. With the metronome, that two bar section sounds like that.
Okay, there a little 16th notes skipping there but it is pretty straightforward. Okay, the first bar is easy. It is 8th note of F which is the first fret of the E string and it moves to C. Now, because you got this skip and also goes down to G and you got this thing with the descending 4th again, I am fingering that with the 4th finger rather than the 3rd at the 3rd fret of the A string and it goes like this. I am going to do it really slowly. So, I am going to do that again and count it. So, that is the one tricky rhythmic part of the song. It is very easy to pick up. I am going to do it for you. And that is how I finger down from C to the G and then back by using the 3rd finger as well as the 4th finger.
Okay, after that, we got another six bars. We will repeat that three times rather and then go up to G which is 3rd fret of the E string and we will play that eight times. And then we play G sharp which is I am using the second finger to finger it and it is the 4th fret of the E string. Play that eight times at all. And then, up to E for four notes so it is up to A which is the 5th fret, back down to G 3rd fret. And you are going from F for the 1st fret down to the open E, F down to E, F down to E, and then F, and then F sharp, and then you have got two bars of G where you just play on the G at the 3rd fret. Okay, I quickly do that with the metronome.
Okay, the other section of the tune to look at is the chorus. Now, I am not going to spell out. I have this and the free chorus mainly because the chorus is almost identical to the verse. There are only a couple of minor differences that is spelled out in the PDF that I accompanied this lesson with. So, I am going to suggest that for your line in the chorus, what you need to do is go and check out the PDF. Have a look at that, have a listen to the originals by Oasis. You see, if you can figure it out yourself – because using your wrist, I think I said in the tuning lesson, it is one of the most important thing you can learn to do as well as the physical things of holding the base for fingering the notes, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
So, get to the PDF. You see if you can work out the chorus on your own, if you can put it all together and play through the song. So, that is Don’t Look Back in Anger. Look out for lesson eight where we are going to look at the baseline to Message in the Bottle. Please email if you got any questions. I will see you next time.
