Hi, I am Sandy from AFloral and today we are going to make some wedding bouquets.
Our first one will be in one of the bouquet holders with the dry flower foam in it and I have created my own bouquet holder here with a lovely vase and we are going to make this bouquet using gardenias. I am going to start with gardenia right in the very center. And then we are going to place three gardenias around that. When we do floral design, we would like to use odd numbers and three are good for making something round. Since this one will be a colonial style or round bouquet, we will use three flowers. After I have my initial three gardenias in there, I will put a gardenia in between each of the first ones and down a little lower.
Now, we have seven gardenias, three at the bottom, three in the middle and one as our center focal point. In between here, I am going to add some roses. Use there a beautiful silk rose and we will put three of those in between the first three gardenias at the top. Now, around the edge it is a little bigger so we need to have six roses. So, I precut some more and this time we will put two roses in between each gardenia. Now we get a nice size, start small and build it out a little bigger. This would be a perfect bouquet for a bride or a bridesmaid if you add up some color to it.
Okay now, if you look at it. We have one gardenia in the center, three around that and three roses at the bottom or the outside we have three gardenias and six roses. And if you look at that carefully, it is already quite beautiful and has a lovely shape. What we would do now is find something to fill-in any of the little holes that you do not like. And I have some beautiful jeweled stephanotis and we will just add a stem of that. I have cut the stem up into several pieces and we will put some around the outside and some in the center, making sure that we distribute it evenly throughout the bouquet. This foam is very nice to work with because it is soft and your stems will slide in easily but then stays secure in there. Now, I also have some little buds from the gardenias and we want to add those in as well. There is no real reason to have to add them in other than they came on the stem and you have paid for them so let us put them in there. And it makes it also look a little more natural like a real fresh flower would.
Now, we have a beautiful round-shape bouquet with gardenias, roses and stephanotis. But now we need to finish off the back side. And to do that, I like to take the leaves. This came off the gardenia stems and put them in to your bouquet holder. And you notice I am facing them with the green side facing out so that when you see the back of the bouquet or anyone does, they are seeing a beautiful leaves and not plastic stems. After you have done this at out of all leaves in, if you would like to finish it off with a bow, I think that is a very nice idea.
Does it not look lovely on the backside? And look at the front, anybody will be proud to carry this.
