This video tutorial is brought to you by www.jimmyr.com the best in the internet. Mnpeden asks with 18 votes, I have heard of a program called Peerguardian two that holds peers out of your computer. But I am not very sure of it and I hope you will spend sometime on it so we can see a tutorial of it. Well, Peerguardian two blocks the IP address they did not hold out peers or anything like that.
It is basically blocks IP ranges from malicious organization like for example the RIAA they only scan people so they can prosecute them for sharing copyright material. It also blocks government organization and fax just collecting statistics they have no business scanning your computer anyway. It also blocks malicious sites that maybe serving spy ware or viruses like fake Emule servers.
So, it just blocks a whole bung of IP addresses, peers are what make peer to peer work because you are downloading from peers and you are uploading two peers. So, you are distributing the file as well as downloading it at the same time. So, it does not block peers it would not affect your upload rate and you still have to upload. But it would not affect your download rate either. It will just block certain organizations that tend to be malicious certain IP ranges it blocks IP ranges.
To get Peerguardian two all you have to do is go to Google, search Peerguardian, if you are using a Mac you want to put Peer guardian OSX otherwise it will only give you the windows version. So, just Google search, go to the binaries, save it and that is it. Thanks for the question, this has been a video tutorial by www.jimmyr.com, I hope you enjoyed it.
