Male Speaker: Hey Youtube, it's Tech Support Gone Bad. I am going to be teaching you guys how to connect your laptop or your computer or any computer to any monitor. In this case, I am using my TV, just because I am having spare monitors lying around. But yeah, you can use a TV if you want to. Yeah, basically we'll get to into your monitor so you could drive your mouse or any program onto any side of your computer and we'll end up on another screen. You could use that for many features and many things and all those help you out in long way. So let's get started.
The first thing you need, it's actually the only thing you'll need is the right cable. In this case, I am using an S-Video to S-Video cable. Now to figure out the right cable that you need, just take a look at the port your computer has and then take a look at the ports your TV has, and as we -- which one, then you can find cables for it. Now in this case, I don't have an HDMI Apple on my computer, so I am using S-Video to S-Video, but yes, you can also use HDMI to HDMI and even in some cases, you can use USB to HDMI. I don't even think that's possible, USB -- something else that your TV has. But yeah, you should want to find the right cable and you want to make sure that it's been both your computer and your screen or monitor.
After that, once you've found your cable, the hard part is already over. All you do is go ahead and connect it to your computer and your TV. So let's go ahead and -- now to connect -- my TV. And there we got, so as you can see, it's connected from my laptop to my TV now. Now depending on what type of cable are you using, the type of port you're using, you're going to have to change the TV to one of the videos. So video 1, video 2, video 3, you're going to have to change to one of those. In this case, mine is video 1. So if I turn it on, my TV is already set to video 1 right now, and see what happens. Just like that, you can see my computer screen on the TV.
So there -- right there, and then TV. Now yours might not end up looking as perfect as that at first or yours might not even show up that first. So let's head into my computer and I am going to show you how to tweet, the setting, make it a little better and make it show up if it's not showing up already. And yeah, so let's go into my computer.
So here we are at my computer right now. The first thing I want do to, that's with setting and properties is just right click on your desktop and click on properties. Once you have property selected, you want to select the settings tab. Then you don't want to mess with your first monitor unless you don't like it. Your first monitor is going to be your computer screen, your default monitor. You might want to mess with the screen resolution and the color quality a little bit but if you like your computer the way it is right now, then don't mess with it. Now what you want to do is you should be able to see a second diary display right here. I'll show you a second monitor if not then for some reason if your wire is not working, you might get it messed up, or it just might not be the right line.
Now this - you're going to see the second monitor right here, and you just want to click on it and just drag it around to any area. As you can see, I can drive it around on top of the first monitor to the left, to the right, whatever I really want. This is very useful because now I am back at my desk, so I set my computer back on my desk. So that means that my TV -- my monitor is to the right of me. So I want to set the monitor, so the computer knows that it is to the right of me. So every time I move my mouse to the right off of my computer screen, it ends up on my TV screen. So I hope that makes sense, but basically what moving it around thus it tells you where your second monitor is compared to the first one. So if your second monitor is at the top of your first computer, your first monitor, to the left, to the right, you want to just set that --
Then you want to make sure that the second monitor is selected and then you want to mess with the screen resolution and the color quality a little bit to see what fits you the best, and what fits your monitor the best. You also want to have users' device as my primary monitor unchecked and extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor checked, and that's pretty much it. You just want to tweak with the setting alone, mess with the settings a little, and you can see what fits your monitor and what fits your just personal - just your personal attitude best. That's it, so I hope you guys enjoy this tutorial and I hope it help you out to get two monitors. This is actually one of my most commonly asked questions.
So yeah, I hope it really helped you guys out. If it did, please subscribe to my Youtube channel at youtube.com/techsupportgonebad, and please take a look at my website at techsupportgonebad.com. I put up stuff there weekly and I also put bridge tutorials, something, time to make a video for. And all that stuff goes on my website. So that is pretty much it. Once you have messed with the properties, everything at your personal liking, this is what it'll show up like.
Usually, if you move your mouse of your screen right onto the monitor screen. I don't know if you can see the mouth at that, but it is moving around, and you should be able to move it back whenever you want. Then you could also move forward over to the computer screen, around and move it back, whatever you want it. Yeah, that's -- bad, it's not a very hard thing to do, but yeah, it -- one of the most commonly asked questions. So I thought you make a tutorial on --
So till next tutorial, I'll see you guys later.
