Bowmann here at BWone.com we’re going to update our HTC TouchPro to the latest software offered by Verizon Wireless. So the latest software that’s offered at two new key features of visual voicemail support and send a low GPS which allow to use other GPS application outside of PC Navigator on your TouchPro. So the first thing we’re going to do here is we’re going to update to TouchPro with the latest software and before you do anything you want to make sure you backup all your data so you want to make sure you do an active sink if you’re using Windows XP. If you’re using Windows Vista you want to make sure you use windows for the device center and you synchronize it that way. Also you want to make sure you use PIM backup. You want to catch my tutorial on that. Just check on my other videos on PIM backup and you want to use that. If you’re not sure to get PIM backup on your new device you want to check on my drag and drop tutorial as well and then I’ll show you how to get the application on the new device and you can see how to use it, backup all your data, make sure you install backup first because this update will wipe out everything so you want to make sure you have it all backed up.
Once you’ve done that you want to go website at WBone.com which occupied the link. We can download the latest update and when you download the update you want to make sure you go to the site and you see manias release one in the 6/11/2009, that’s the one you want to download, you download the zip, foster it to your desktop and once you’ve downloaded it to your desktop you want to open up, does it fall here and you’re going to see this folder, you’re going to click on the folder there and you want to drag all this ru Urafia C ECW file right on to your desktop. You can close up the zip file, double click on that, click next, and it’s going to verify some of the information on the device and it could take a few minutes to do that on this first one here so you want to be patient.
Okay, once the first verification is complete you’re going to get the RAM update utility, you want to click that checkbox. Make sure you understand all the information in the screen, click next, you want to make sure these four steps have been followed. Once you’ve done that you want to click on the checkbox and then click next. It’s going to verify some information again on your device. You want to click on here the latest update and then you want to click next. And here is going to tell you what to do during the process, click next and the RAM update process will begin.
So once again this is going to take sometime to update so you want to make sure you sit back and relax and that’s your TouchPro update.
Okay, once the update completes, you’re going to get this congratulation screen right here, your TouchPro is going to reboot, you’re going to reset it up again which we’re going to do right here. And then when it takes the tool to the software, so check that out next.
Okay, now that the update is completed, let’s take a look at what we have here for changes. Now, mush is change from what I’ve noticed it’s all the same touch float 3D, it runs a little bit smoother, the memory is a little better. In terms of that you have now the video of voicemail application, just click on that. And we’ll open that up but it is a subscription base service so it’ll make you subscribe to visual voicemail which you have to pay I think $2.00 or $3.00 from Verizon which is kind of lame considering that this is all the source of providers that give us away for free but to charge you for it is kind of ridiculous. It should be something that’s standard in today’s world
The GPS is unlocked now, through the standard RAM. I was able to get a connection with the 101 side, did a couple of test but the connection is very sporadic. In terms of it following me then follow me as well as it should have and not enough for me to really record anything substantial. I use the Google maps and I use Microsoft live maps and both of them were kind of dodgy in terms of following it. They were were kind of accurate but not as good as it should be but you probably want to get yourself a true navigation such as TeleNav or TomTom for windows mobile, you can get those, those are probably a lot better and there are probably updates to like maps and Google maps will work with GPS a little bit better as well. But it is unlocked and it does work decently well.
The overall is a little bit faster than the original one. It does not have too many great improvements. 3D works a little bit better. Other than that it’s just sure understands the windows move around from Verizon. I definitely recommend upgrading too just for the GPS unlocking, individual voicemail alone is worth just doing the upgrade tool to it so I would definitely recommend doing it for that. The link is going to be all upside, having all the BWone.com and this is it. I still kind of prefer sort of the customer ones over these. I feel like they work a little bit better but this is a suitable upgrade. I definitely recommend going for it.
