And your nine times out of ten, you are going to want to change that value so we created default value, then we go to options, and we change this values. So, you can see here I have the capacity and the options to change both the heights, the depths, and the length of that wall that I have selected. Now, I want to change all of the walls that it connected to that walls, surroundings goes to change them one at a time. But I am going to do is select this box. It says select all segments, select all wall segments. So, by click on one all and then click on the select the segments wall. You can say the heights an d depths is 00:40 here but the length is great down towards now available to us.
And the reason behind that is each one of the straight inch connecting wall segments has a different length so they share a common heights and depths and they have a different length. So if I come now to depth and change these values to say 90 millimeters and click apply you can see what is happened is all of the three interconnecting walls have been adjusted from the default value of 2400 millimeters height, 200 millimeters depth to 2400 high, 90 millimeters depth.
So, I am going to go through and do that other side to the walls and again each of the walls that I built using my drawing function and back to a drawing function is the walls the interconnected each other, and you can see these interconnection relationship through this blue control points. All of these walls can be change by clicking on any one segment of the walls, going to select all segments and then making an adjustment to one of the values here and clicking apply. And we will see again all of the segments have now updated there depth to 90 millimeters.
So, that is how we insert our wall is to just quickly repeat that process let us click on this wall here deleted. We find the line that we wish to apply the wall upon. Go to the wall building tool, select the wall building tool, click with the left hand mouse button where you want the wall to touch, drag with the mouse held down to the point where you want the wall to finish and let go. These creates a wall with the default height of 2400 millimeters high and 200 millimeters deep and of course because this is a single segment you can see the length you selected. So, I can change any of these values in this wall uptight the wall in our scene. So, let us click on the wall and say this is a three meter high wall and you could see it is updated, it is a 90 millimeter deep wall and you can see it is updated.
Anytime we would going to make any changes just like with the basic version the virtual decorated. We have a tool called the undo tool, click ones on the undo tool for each step backwards in the building process you wish to take. So, that is a quick overview, how we create both exterior perimeter walls and internal structural walls within a booting process.
What we are going to discuss now is the creation of flooring surfaces for a virtual building so that we can place materials of construction into a virtual building. Now, you remember when we first touch with the set of plans, plans that represent the building that you wish to construct the model of the very first step that we did after scaling the plan was to create a foundation and we did not get rid of that foundation. In fact that foundation is still runs through out the length and depth to that building. We simply make the foundation transparent using a color tool, so that we could what was underneath on the plans and correctly position our wall structure, and internal wall structures.
So, we actually have floor that runs through out the building and in fact what we could do is we could go to the process of putting the material. For example, on this floor but that material would then run through out the entire length of that building and that might be very practical discussion if what your building is a commercial area or in fact an industrial building but as we are creating model of a residential house here it would be extremely unlikely that you would have the same floor finishes in every room of the house. What I mean by that is it would unexpected to have the same floor materials in the garage, and the master bedroom, and the on way and the walking road. These are likely to have separate materials in each room, so we need to go through the process of creating a separate floor area in each room of the house that we again to apply a separate floor finish.
So, what we need to do is we need to go up to a drawing tools and we connects this up here at the top left hand to all of the screen, you could see Default tools that are might available to our building tools by going to one step down and I drop the menu, you will see the drawing tools. And there are a number of different types of drawing tools that we make available to you total make circular foundations. A total make polygon foundations but seem look to the concept to tracing of a multi sided shape as we did with the original floor plans in today’s tutorial, A tool that allows to build square or rectangular foundation tools.
Now, the dark right tools are for drawing or adding in foundation and the white tools a whole cutting tools. They allow us to cut holes in through out the surfaces and come back in and talk a little bit about that light where are now trying video today. But lets us stop of by choosing out rectangular or square drawing tool and then drawing some floor some separate floor areas in each room of the house that we wish to have a separate floor finish. So, I go to my rectangular foundation tool, I select that with my left hand mouse button, and then I will go to the very corner of the room and click with my left hand mouse button and then drag to the bottom right and corner.
See as I drag this out I can basically control the width and the depths of this rectangular square. So, I get to the point where I want the square to finish and I simply let my mouse button go. And what this then does is create a flooring material. So, just move too hard just move that little bit. Tack down position; it creates the flooring material for my master bedroom area. Just do the same thing for a double garage. So, rectangular foundation tool run ups the corner, click where I want to be, and drag down to the bottom right hand corner and let it go and again you can see our created separate flooring are from my double garage floor. Ready to apply whatever material construction I choose for that particular space in my house
Now, let us talk about some of the challenges that new uses have and creating drawing tools or creating floors in the rooms and it is this if you not careful. If you do not carefully select where you want the floor foundation to begin. You can create unwanted shapes on unwanted surfaces. So for example, I was intending to draw a flooring to my second bedroom here and for some reason even now I draw this in the corner I ended up drawing a floor or foundation against the wall.
Now, why did that happen? Quite simply because I had the mouse too close to the corner and instead of directing the software to create the foundation that in the corner here I actually had the mouse to cross the top of the wall. So very simple mistake to make so we have some aids, some assistance build into the software that works like this. You select the foundation tool, hold the shift button down, and click on the surface that you wish the foundation to be created. And you can see a red cross here at piece with cross that then marks very visually the surface on which the software is going to create that foundation for you. And then you let the shift button go and you can get right in to the corner here, so we can get right in we do not have to have to worry now because we have got a nominated surface and we can create very accurate floor for the space.
So, let us got back and do that again. Choose the foundation tool, hold the shift button down, and press ones with the left hand mouse button this they nominate the surface on which the foundation is going to be created and then we can get right into the corner without any concerns about being on the wall about creating a foundation its strange angles or in the wrong surface running to the wall because we have nominated that out a build surface to this surface here and we can drag out a floor. So, we got a flooring then each room of the house so one of the double garage, one for the master bedroom, obviously we can use a transparency tool as we did with the foundation to make this surfaces either transparent or a pike. If we are going to place some material construction onto this surface we are going to want to make those surfaces a pikes so that we can in turns see what that material will look like when it is placed on a foundation.
