Hey, this is Justin. You’re watching WinkSound.com. I’m going to show you how to use the Selector Tool in Pro Tools 8. This is great. You can highlight some audio, loop playback or just playback that area and you could go in there and highlight some audio and delete it if you need to. Check it out.
Okay, so this is selector tool already here. And the selector tool allows you to move around in the song in different times to the song and you could just click on that time and you see this little marker comes in over here wherever you move and the song I’ll playback from that position.
And then also if you click on certain time and hold it down and drag it and you highlight an area, it will just playback that highlighted area and then it will stop.
Now, if you have loop playback on enabled which is options loop playback or SHIFT + COMMAND + L. If you do the same thing, click an arrow, hold it and drag it, it will loop that section.
And then also what the selector tool does is you can highlight some audio within your region and delete it. If you have a pop or click or something and you need to take it out, you could zoom in. Let’s say this is it, precisely nail it down and then delete it.
