This is Todd Ogasawara, MobileAppsToday.com and MobileDevicesToday.com. And this is a Nokia N96 smartphone in front of me. And although it’s a great phone, one of my common complaints about it is it does not have a QWERTY keyboard.
So, what am I a going to do for email and that sort of thing? Well, happily I discovered the other day that there was a free Bluetooth wireless keyboard driver available from Nokia from their download sites. So, I downloaded it directly to my phone and installed it. And what do you know? It actually works with my old Bluetooth keyboard which I bought from my Windows Mobile smartphone. This is a Stowaway keyboard. It’s a very nice folding Bluetooth keyboard. I like it a lot.
And now, it works with my Nokia. So, if I press the little down arrow, you’ll see that the screen activates on a Nokia. I will pull back a little so you can see what I’m doing. Left and right arrows work and of course if I type, you know, it shows up in a screen. So, email and that sort of thing is now something that is not so horrible for me. We’ve got a QWERTY keyboard on the Nokia. I wish it had one like the N97 that is coming up will have. But for now, at least I can use my good, old Bluetooth keyboard that I originally bought for my Windows Mobile smartphones with my Nokia N96.
