So you've got a still camera and you also have a nice big wide screen television; the flat panel on the wall or on the tabletop. Wouldn't it be great if you get your photos from your camera onto your TV? Well, guess what, it's real easy to do.
If you have a model with an SD card slot on it, it's very, very easy. You basically remove the card, stick it right in the TV, the TV will automatically read the card and display your photos in full high definition glory on that big huge screen.
Of course, if you don't have a set with a card slot on it, there are other options. For example, one of the options is to use a cable. In this particular case, I am using an HDMI cable, and it has an HDMI, it will plug-in to any TVs that have HDMI, and now the camera becomes the source of the pictures and it will play it on the HDMI.
If you don't have HDMI, you can go with standard red, white, yellow cables, and you can see the video on there, but it won't be in high definition, but it will still be on the screen.
If you have a set-top box, for example, like an Apple TV box or maybe a Blu-ray player, a lot of these today have SD card slots on it, so you can actually take the SD card, stick in the Blu-ray player. The Blu-ray player acts as a player for your photos on your screen, so it's another great way of doing it.
If you have a game console, maybe an Xbox 360 or a PS3 or a Nintendo Wii, all of those have photo modes, where they'll take the card and actually display the card contents, which are the photos, on your screen. You can even add music and add transitions, so you get a really nice little slideshow.
So having that big screen TV, just think it as a giant picture frame, so it doesn't have to be black. You can use it to put all your wonderful photos on. So if you just want a background photo, they'll sit up there, they'll slowly rotate with music behind it, it's a really wonderful thing to do. So make use of it, take your digital photos, take your screen, it will work like a child.
