How the HydraFacial Treatment Works Dr. Travis Stork: While we get older we want to look our best and today’s number one secret to looking younger is pretty simple, water helps improve our skin from the inside out. Drew is backstage right now in our Dr’s bed spa to show us how, take it away big Drew. Dr. Drew Ordon: Hi, there gang and I’ve got a little cruise for you, three doctors there. What looks better? This wrinkled cracked skin or this smooth, lustrous skin? Dr. Lisa Masterson: The smooth and lustrous skin. Dr. Drew Ordon: There you go, go to the top head of the class there, Dr. Masterson. What’s the difference? It’s moisture. It’s water. It’s volume in that skin. And here with me today is licensed nurse and aesthetician, Launa Stone from the Stone Med Spa in Calabasas, California. And she is demonstrating the hydrafacial on our nice patient here, Cherrie. Hydrafacial is a new facial technique that is great for putting moisture back into your skin. So Launa, tell us exactly what you're doing and why the hydrafacial works so well. Launa Stone: The hydrafacial has water that’s packed with vitamins and antioxidants and so when we’re doing our process it’s infusing the cells with vitamins and antioxidants and the water. Dr. Drew Ordon: So a little power washes, isn’t it? Launa Stone: You know what? It’s like a steam plan for your carpet. Dr. Drew Ordon: I’ve had this done and I liked it. Launa Stone: Oh, that’s wonderful. Dr. Drew Ordon: How does that feel Cherrie? Cherrie: Fabulous. Launa Stone: So our next cue process is cleaning out the pores. It sucks out the black heads, white heads, dirt, smog, the makeup pollution anything that’s down there on the pores while it simultaneously infuses the skin with the vitamins, antioxidants and the water. After the hydrafacial, the next step that we do on our program is we add hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is in my opinion the best moisturizer in the world. It has 70 times more water than any other natural cleanser. Dr. Drew Ordon: And it’s hydrophilic meaning that it attracts water and it keeps water there. Launa Stone: Exactly, it attracts 1000 times its weight and it’s attraction and its affinity for water so your skin is much smoother, softer, plumper and hydrated. Isn’t that nice?
