How the Weather Affects Your Hair

We’ve all had them, bad hair days; when the air turns humid our hair can take on a life of its own. For people with damaged hair going outside on a humid day can be a hair rising experience. So what exactly is at the root of bad hair days? It’s called Keratin, the protein that gives hair its structure. Humidity in the air makes the bonds inside that protein break apart, causing hairs to swell off and giving you the frizzes. Even in the winter months when the air turns drier, your hair still may not cooperate; the cold air combined with dry heat in your home can remove moisture from your hair and leave it full of statics. So what can you do to improve your do? No matter what the weather, if you keep your locks trimmed and well-conditioned, there’ll be plenty of days when you won’t have a hair out of the waste.
