So today we’re going to make a script tool quickly access our source file. Usually you have to use systems, and then you go to administration and then sort of—that take a long time even if you do with the terminal it takes a long time to type the—out, to sudo gedit and this whole line here, that’s just too long.
So today we’re going to make a script and you have to navigate to your home folder, use your name dot gnome2 slash nautilus script. And what you want to do in here is create a new file, empty file, right. Rename it whatever you want, in this case I’m going to call it sources, right, and you’re going to open it. And inside it, you’re going to type in pound, exclamation mark, slash bin slash bash. And the next one you one to type in GKsudo, gksudo is a GUI up sudo so you don’t have to use the terminal. And you type in the same thing gedit slash ETC slash APT slash source dot list, and you have to save it now also. See nice, it’s in the bash command line.
Okay now just close that off right, you create that but you have to set permission to it to. All you’ve got to do is highlight in there, and go to properties. And in properties it says permission tab here and you want to allow executing, and close it up and you’re done. That’s pretty much it. And how it works is like this, you see on the desktop right, and you say you found a source file. I mean a source or—and you want to add it quickly. You don’t have to use the menu or the terminal. All you’ve got to do is right click, it says scripts here. And you want to go click on sources and it will prompt you for your password, see? This is the GKsudo. So you go to just type in your password, alright and you get quickly access your source files, right here your source list. And then just add it in and save it, see that’s all.
