Welcome to PCWizKid’s Tech Talk. Today I have a quick Windows 7 tip for you guys, it’s called the god mode. Enabling that in Windows 7 is actually quite easy. Right now on the control panel, all you’ve got is all these shortcuts to different categories. The god mode basically puts everything all into one folder and unleashes additional hidden secrets and hidden shortcuts basically in one spot instead of having to go and try to find everything. So to create this god mode, right click on your desktop for example and go and create a new folder. In that new folder, you’re going to type in the following, I know it’s a lot to type in, you have to make sure you get it right. If you do any spelling mistakes, it will not work so here’s the exact spelling. I’ll post it on the site of the video and on my website and once you rename that, there you go.
It creates this icon that you can double click on and it opens up the god mode. In the god mode, basically all it is is about 39 shortcuts to different types of actions and areas of your system that you can tweak, manage, configure and so forth. It’s all in alphabetical order, the categories here as you can see and many of these obviously are easy to access and you might know how to get to go them already. Others are not so easy to find and it takes awhile to get to that shortcut so that’s why this god mode basically puts everything all in one place so your one stop shop to accessing everything all at once and that’s why they’re calling it a god mode. But it’s not really giving you any more additional access than what you already have so it doesn’t give you more than administrator access for example. It’s the same thing. So I thought I’d share this with you. I’m using Windows 7 64 bit right now and it’s working fine. It has not crashed on me even though it has been reported to crash on Windows Vista 64 bit.
So you might want to keep that in mind. It does work with the 32 Version of version of Windows Vista and Windows 7. However, I have only tested this in Windows 7 64 bit. I will test it of course in Windows Vista 64 bit as well to see if it crashes but so far, I had not problems with Windows 7 and if you want to try it in 32 bit operating system of Windows 7 or Vista, they say it works fine so there you go, god mode as it has been reported earlier this week. It’s been out there on the news and many people have been talking about it so I thought I’d make a quick video to show you how to add it onto your desktop and access it. So there you go. These are all the different types of options from A-W as you can see here, all 39 shortcuts roughly here as you can see different types of things to do and that’s about it for god mode. So anyways, I hope you enjoy this video and thank you.
