Welcome to GEEKcompNERD’s computer zone show. Please take note that if you have any questions, email me at support@geekcompnerds.tk.
Alright so in this tutorial, we’re going to be seeing how you can get this copy to folder and move to folder option in the right click menu. Now basically, what this copy to folder option is, it brings up a dialogue box which allows you to navigate through your entire system to choose a folder or location where you want to copy the folder to. Same thing, this allows with the move to folder option, which allows you to move the entire file to a specific folder so it’s a lot easier than right clicking and then choosing copy or cut and then going to the folder and saying paste. So, it saves a lot of time.
Now in order to get this option, you’re going to go to start, run, and type in regedit which will bring up the registry editor window. So, what you want to do is click on HKEY_CLASS_ROOT at that little arrow beside it and scroll a bit to the bottom until you find an entry called “all file system objects”. So, we look for that, there we go, “all file system object”. Now what you are going to do is click on that little arrow there, expand shellex, and expand context manu handler. Now by default, neither copy to will be available nor will move to.
So, what you’re going to do is right click on context menu handler, choose new key and type in “copy to”. And what you’re going to do is once that’s done, go to the right and double click on default and you enter the value data as this. Now this will be displayed in the description, so select okay and then right click and choose new key and then type in “move to”. And similarly do the same thing, but this time what you’re going to do is replace the zero over there with a one and hit okay.
Now, you can exit out of this registry editor box. Now if you right click again, you can see that “copy to” folder and “move to” folder are available in the right click menu. So, that’s a tweak, if you have any question as I’ve said before please email at support@geekcompnerds.tk. Visit my website at geekcompnerd.tk and join in the forums at forums-geekcompnerd.tk. Thanks for watching.
