How to Add Detail to Graffiti Art
Hi, I’m Stephan, I’m at SSC park today, I’m showing you how to do aerosol art. Now that we’re done the fill, I wanna show you how to do some small detail work in the fill, just to make your piece a little more creative. This part is basically completely up to you. Usually I’ll use skinny caps and just make my little design. I usually use, find some old scrap paint, like this can of paint, it’s pretty low, I use it for the small detail work, coz I’m not doing a whole lot. So I wanna find a cap that fits what I wanna do. And let’s see. And I wanna go to any area of my piece that I’ve decided to put it in. And I just wanna come through and, let’s say I wanna, let me do a little fade down here and then to go with the bubble thing on the force field. I add a few little bubbles in there too. Now to fade, you basically wanna start out low then you wanna pull the paint back, getting farther from it so the paint just slightly sprays the piece. And I’ll do this in a few different spot to the piece, not throughout the whole thing. Now, just to add a little bit different color in there, I’m still keeping a cool color, green, to go with the warm, to compliment the warm colors in the background. Bring in some green up the top, and do basically the same thing with some scrap paint. Okay, you might have to go back in and touch up your force field, again keeping the lines clean as possible. Now that I’m done doing the detail and the fill, I’m gonna go through and put in some white highlights to make the piece pop even more. An effective way of doing this is called white lining, where you just line one side of the piece going all the way across to make it looks like, as if light was coming in from the right side. Now that I’m done with the final detail work, let’s get started on the outline.
