These steps focus on adding a contact to your Address Book two ways, from scratch or from an incoming call or email using your Blackberry.
To type contacts in your Blackberry Address Book one at time, select the Address Book located on the Blackberry home screen. Press the Menu key and then select the New Address.
The new address screen appears. Type on your Blackberry keyboard to enter this information. When typing an email address, press the Space key for the @ symbol or a period.
Enter as much info’s you can so you can refer to it if your memory fails you. You may want to type a note that tells you who this person is or how you know him.
Maybe your contact has two email addresses. To create a new blank email field for the same contact, press the Menu key and choose Add Email Address. You can add up to three email addresses per contact.
Press the trackball and select Save to save your changes. Now, you see you contact added to the list. If you need to enter a phone number with an extension for that contact, scroll to and select that contact by pressing the trackball.
Press the Menu button and scroll to Edit. Press the trackball. Type the main phone number. Press the trackball. Select Add Pause. And then type the extension number. Now, your Blackberry will dial the extension after the regular phone number. When you’re done typing, press the trackball and choose Save.
To add a contact from one of your incoming emails, scroll to the email from the contact whose address you want to save and press the trackball to open the message.
When the email is opened, press the trackball again to open the menu. Scroll down to full menu and press the trackball. Scroll to the bottom of the menu and click Add to Address Book. A new address screen appears and already has the email address you selected. Now just enter the rest of the information you know about the person. And it’s all ready to be saved in the Address Book. Press the trackball and choose Save.
You can add a contact from a phone call pretty much the same way. First, go to the Call Log. Depending on your Blackberry model, your menu maybe a little different. Scroll to the phone number you want to save and press the trackball. Follow the same steps in the short menu that appears.
