How to Add Text in After Effects CS3

To add text to your composition, go ahead and from the toolbar choose the text tool and you can either do horizontal type or you can do vertical type. I’m going to go ahead and choose horizontal type here. Notice that the character pane and the paragraph pane popped up for me.

I’m going to go ahead and click on my composition where I’d like to add my text and I’m going to go ahead and you could do an alignment if you want on the paragraph panel. You can also change the font that you’re using and you could choose the style. You could choose the color and go ahead. And for the text color, you can go ahead and you could pick a color from there. You could choose the size if you want to choose a larger size. You could choose different things like the leading, the kerning, the space, there’s lots of different options here. You could do subscript, superscript, so go ahead and set the options like how you want them and then go ahead and type with your keyboard on to the composition and it will go ahead and it will show up on the composition. Now, you could go ahead and you can select this and then you can make any other changes that you want on here and it will go ahead and it will make those changes for you.
