Hello! I’m Dr. David Katz, eating well is not just about what you can eat or what you should eat
sometime its all about the art of substitution. And I’m going to show you some great ones to
make whole grain apart of everyday. So for example, you starting the day with the bowl of
breakfast cereal and many cereals are made from refine grains that they are wonderful whole
grain cereals available start the day with the bowl that fill with new trans and fiber it’s so much
better choice and easy substitution to make. At snack time, you may want something and
crunchy and you may think to go with pretzels but most pretzels are also made with refine flour
and they lack that whole grain goodness but it’s so easy to trade up just use an air proper pops
and popcorn you’ve got whole grain corn. Cooking grains often make a great side dish at dinner
time but some of the old standbys like white rice lack that whole grain goodness but here too it’s
a very easy to trade up. You can switch over the white rice or brown rice or even consider a
somewhat more exotic looking grain such as whole grain Kinwa. One of the nice things about
Kinwa many people are concerns about avoiding gluten this is a grain its gluten free. I eat bread
almost everyday and I think everyday was over the low carb craze does as well and although
white bread taste good frankly the whole grain bread taste just as good but they offer a far greater
health benefits so making a bread like a whole grain bread a part of your dinner great idea. And
when you do all of this changes you absolutely trading up your entire diet but you got there one
good choice at the time, one whole grain substitute at a time.
