Host: Okay so we are going to get all these shingles off of the entire wall because I
know you just hate them. When I’m cross to my fingers then I’m really, really
hoping is that when we take this off that it’s either just unfinished dry wall or
plaster like dress to house because it’s plywood and what that means is we are
going to have to re-dry wall and everything that we cut the whole in alright. I just
want to hook the time to do this. These are exterior shake shingles, these are
meant for the outside alright.
Female: Oh what is that?
Host: Life is not going to bad after all.
Female: Okay.
Host: It will do have dry wall back there and plaster so that’s going to make our line lot
easier. So then all we have to do is we can finish up and touch up any nail host we
have.
Female: Okay, hallelujah.
Host: Awesome. The shingles are gone and now it’s time to start cutting our pass
through. When we use our circular saw with the dime and blade and here we go.
A little dirty in here.
Female: Oh lords have mercy.
Host: So get score with your circular saw, come on here with your hammer and see
when you score it like that then it leaves all the flush so that we don’t want a
knock out and leaves it in that.
Female: Okay, cool, alright.
Host: Then we get do something with over there. This is the tricky part of cutting a pass
through to make sure the opening will be exactly the same size we have to
transfer the measurements from the first hole over to the other side of the wall. So
now we’ve got all of this— all of that and everything else. You can already see
that it just— it feels like an open space so now we are going to cut 3x4 that’s out
of here, all the studs I can go and have to start and put all these things walls and
still that all those holes and keep on all those cracks alright.
Female: Alright.
Host: Here we go.
Female: Feelings good.
Host: Before we start to cutting we check to make sure this wall wasn’t load varying. If
the ceiling and floor joints are running parallel to your wall it’s probably safe. But
if you are not sure it’s a good idea to consult a professional.
Female: I’ve never done this before, this is fun.
Host: That’s good.
Female: I look I know what I am doing right? Hey you know what it’s not that hard.
Host: Alright all the dry wall is dried so now what I need you to do is to start stand and
this down. And when I buck this in so now we are going to make a little progress.
Female: Okay.
Host: Alright.
Female: This is good.
Host: So what we have to do is create a solid and rough mark, a wrap opening before we
start to finish the opening with this one I’m doing. You know and this is look
pretty, never looks pretty until we’re done so I’m just build the box and having
this 1x6 materials. So you level it and put your shames in the hold and in place
and then you screw the right for the wood right to shames right into your frame
and you cut this off. So now what we are going to do is the case to pump who I
am. Over there so we need 78 inches now we are going to cut this in 45 degree
angle. And just cover what you need. Don’t be afraid to nail gun, that’s awesome
and we are good and we are ready for some cookie and then some prime and then
some painting and then after that will put countertop in and then we’re done.
