How to Add a Facebook Fan Box to a Website
Hi. This is Rich Brooks of Flyte New Media. We’re a web design and internet marketing company. You can find us on the web at www.flyte.biz or in Facebook at facebook.com/flytenewmedia.
Now, as a lot small business and non-profits know, social media sites like Facebook are a great place to connect with your audience and build your business for membership. Today, were going to take a look at Facebook. It's important to understand that on Facebook, people have profiles and friends while businesses have pages and fans.
So here’s an example. Here, here is my profile on Facebook and here is the fan page for Flyte New Media. There are number of benefits to having a fan page. First of all, it's good to have an outpost at a popular social media site like Facebook for your business. Since many of your costumers and prospects are already on Facebook, it makes it easy for them to find you and interact with you.
As people become fans of your page or interact with it, their friends are going to see that activity adding a viral element to your marketing and perhaps driving more people to your page to become fans. One way to build your fan base is by adding a fan box to your website or blog which makes it easy for people to fan you.
Another benefit is if you have static website where you can make any changes, you can get your web developer to add a fan page to your site. Now the updates you post to your fan page will appear in your website automatically.
To add a fan box, click on the fan box button on your page. You’ll only see this button if you're an Admin. Although you can choose the blogger or type and add specific widgets I prefer other. Just go ahead and copy that code and then place it into your website or blog.
In this case, I happen to know that the box is too wide for the space I want to put in it. So I'm going to change the width from 300 to 210. Save that, upload it and then I'm going to check it out on the web. And there it is. There is our Facebook fan page on our website.
I hope you found this helpful. If you have any other questions, be sure to reach out to us at www.flyte.biz or in Facebook at facebook.com/flytenewmedia. Thanks.
