How to Add a New Layer in Paint.NET

When you first open an image in paint.net, your image is your background, and it is set as the background layer in the layer palette. Now, how to get a new layer is go down to the layers palette and you can choose this button at the bottom on the very left hand side that says add new layer. Go ahead and click on it and that’s going to add that new layer for you in the layers palette, and from here, you can do any sort of work that you would like to, to the image that you have opened.
