Okay, today I want to show you how easy it is to put a new picture in the magazine template. So what we’re going to do is come up here to file and open and we’re going to open our hockey template. This is showing with a Photoshop elements icon. It could be a Photoshop icon as well either one will work and then I select open, it’s going to ask me if I want to update and I'm going to say no. okay, now one thing you want to be sure is that you have auto select layer, auto select groups, actually I'm going to unselect auto select groups and show transform controls should be selected.
Okay, this will allow you to see what you're grabbing to hold up when you move around throughout your template. Okay so, the first thing we’re going to do is open our picture that we’re going to play as I go to file, open, and find—this is the old picture and this is the new picture that I want to add, you can use these little arrows to browse around until you find your picture. And then you select open. All right, now I want to go back to my template here for a second, so I'm going to click on it and I want to make sure on the main picture that I have the old picture highlighted.
This will allow my new layer to go in right above it. So I've got this picture highlighted and then come over to my new picture and then I'm just going to drag it on top. And now it’s in there. So now, I'm going to move this layer, drag it with my mouse down to the corner and then you're going to press for a PC you're going to press SHIFT and drag it down so it doesn’t get distorted. And then lift up and then you just press your left arrow key over until you find the appropriate spot for your picture. You can see it’s very pixilated right now but when I press ENTER it will be fine. And that looks like a good spot so I'm going to press return or ENTER and my picture is there. If I want to, I can come over and turn off the old layer it doesn’t really matter because it’s not showing but it might in some situations. And you're all done, your new picture is placed.
