Hi I will go to the Tank K community which will take a second or two to update then we need to go to get this widget we want the recent reader’s widget rubbing the top links as we click on that it will bring out the option to configure this widget. Now, you can play around the setting here for instance I do not want it 180 wide the side-bar on this particular theme is only 140 you can decide to whether to show screen names or not I am going to say no. You can say whether if it is full size images or half size I like lots I am going stick them half-size and they are going to stick it to the maximum of 10.
You can also change what it says at the top of the widget here where it says recent readers. I am going to change to recent visitors, okay. They call also change the colors but remember for instance if you change the color of the heading which I am going to do here. I am going to change the heading black that is the actual text. Do not forget to change the header area as well, I am going to change this to blue. On the bottom bit as well I am going to change not blue but white. What I am saying.
Okay, so you can play around with the colors here also change link car like it as darker blue, okay. Once you have done that, click on preview and get code, you can always come back and make more changes, okay. So, you can play around with it to get anyway you want and all that we need to do is if we hit ctrl+A it will highlight that where I can then copy that and if I now to go back to my blog this time I do not want to edit the header I want to edit the side-bar. I need to decide where by its skin the side-bar I want this to appear, I am going to put it above the calendar, okay. This is an easy way of finding something in the side-bar, we are going to look for the word calendar. So, we will go the side-bar and once that comes up we need to scroll to this to find the calendar. And, I think the calendar is quite away down it is after the categories, it is after the themes, drop down, and there it is calendar. So, there is the calendar.
Now, a bit above the calendar is the get link list. Now, these tends to each of these items have an ending tag such as UL or LI. Now, above get calendar there is an ending tag for the get link list which is front/UL. So, I am going to go just after that, hit a couple of extra line breaks and paste it in here. The important bit is not put it between any of these angle brackets because any of it is potentially going to mess up the code.
If you worried about messing up the side-bar at all copy all of the code that you got in here first into a text pad and save it so you always got something to go back, that way you are not worried about messing thins up, you can always go back to it. So simply click on the update button as I just did there. Now, we updated the blog if we go back to the blog and actually click on refresh, we should know hopefully see, here we go, recent visitors. Now, this blog is brand new and nobody from my blog log has actually gone and visited it yet hence they are being nobody shown. If someone from my blog log has visited we would have icons like this, okay.
When you do set up an account with my blog log set up an image as avatar it is so much better to see images rather than this blank ones. You can see the people that you recognize who visited your site as well for instance this is a fellow internet Marco Nelson Tan another internet marker is Randy Smith so a couple of people who now visited the blog.
That is how easy it is to add your site to my blog log and add this particular widget. This video is on mat4.com videos as there are many other videos to help you get the most out of your blog.
I hope you found this useful, thank you very much.
