How to Adjust Brightness and Contrast in Paint.NET

I have a photo of a flower opened here in paint.NET and I’m going to adjust the brightness and the contrast, so I can get some colors that will really pop in this photo.

So I’m going to go up to adjustments and I’m going to go to brightness and contrast. I’m going to move this box so I can see my picture a little bit better. I’m going to move the brightness up and this is going to increase the brightness of the photo. You could see each time I move it up that I get even more light into the picture and while I like a little bit, it also kind of washes it out if I go too high. If I go too much over this side, it’s got to get a little too dark, so I think I’m going to go about what it was, a little more brightness and then I’m going to go down the contrast. Now, the more I go up in contrast, the more rich my colors are going to get. Of course, if I go too far, it’s going to get too dark. And then of course, if I go over this direction, I’m going to get washed out again. So I’m going to move it over here and this is just something that you’ll need to experiment with and it will depend on your photo and what you’re looking for.
